Headley Court Headley Court

“Its great to see something so innovative and exciting, all the guys here love it”

The British Army Rehab centre in Headley Court is their base for assisting the recovery of soldiers injured in service. Loss of limbs was a common injury amongst the ex servicemen and women, and as such the Trike’s unique Steering and Drive systems really appealed to them as they could ride the Trike one handed. The Army has had the Trike on long term trial where it has been used everyday by the soldiers who have really enjoyed riding it around the countryside surrounding Headley court.

“The steering is amazing!”

A group of soldiers with various injuries picked up on military tour in Afghanistan raised money for the ‘Battle Back’ charity by taking part in a gruelling safari marathon in Kenya. The team used a Mountain Trike to help them tackle the challenging terrain and really put the Trike through its paces! The soldiers completed their challenge and commented on how much they enjoyed riding the Trike thanks to its unique steering allowing many of the amputee soldiers to ride it well.

“Its awesome! Great for hiking or doing tricks”

Aaron is a wheelchair stunt rider and the first (and only) person to land a back flip on a wheelchair. He tried the Trike at the Rehacare show in Dusseldorf, Germany and straight away was trying tricks on it and drew quite a crowd!

“Finally I’ll be able to take my son out to play in the park and have the independence to push myself”

Anna was diagnosed with MS a year

ago, and with her standard wheelchair found it difficult to go to the places she used to enjoy with her family and young son. The Mountain Trike gave her the ability to push herself thanks to the unique lever drive and the direct steering enabled her to navigate the challenging paths in her local country park.

“It’s a liberation being able to go places impossible before”

Following a motorcycle accident in his teens, 41 year old Sean is well adjusted to life in a wheelchair, determined to live life to the full with his wife and children. He commented how the Mountain Trike would allow fantastic inclusion in family activities and allow him to take his children into the countryside without being restricted to smooth pathways thanks to the stability of the suspension and rugged frame.

‘I’ve been able to push 4 times further than in my chair!”

Tamara played rugby for Bath, before a fracture to her neck during a match left her paralysed. She is a highly motivated athlete determined to maintain the active lifestyle she enjoyed prior to her injury.

She is planning an ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro where the Mountain Trike’s powerful lever drive system will excel.

Rick Rodgers Rick

“The Trike’s just so cool! It doesn’t look like a wheelchair, and is just so much fun to ride”

Rick is the first wheelchair cheerleader in the world and loves to take part in wheelchair sports, acrobatics and live-action role-play events. Since his accident he has been looking for a wheelchair that would enable him to continue his activities in the countryside; a search which proved fruitless until he discovered the Mountain Trike. He now relishes riding his Trike at events and feels it complements his adventurous personality perfectly. In spring 2011, Rick is planning to climb Wales’ highest peak, Snowdon using his new Mountain Trike.
