Riding a Mountain Trike is an excellent form of exercise, working all the muscles in your upper body rather than just your shoulders.
And so since its creation people have been asking us whether there are any outdoor sports that could be played using it... apart from the obvious hiking and camping activities. So we have decided to try and create a list:
Mountain Trike Racing
Taking part in races and challenges in your trike
It was only a matter of time before someone wanted to race in a Trike! Mountain Trike racing is a fantastic new sport that can be done both by a single athlete and in a team. Our first big event was the 2011 Mud Runner Race and we're looking for more people to take part next year!

CaniX
Cross-country running or cycling with your dog.

At the start of 2011 we joined a group of CaniX enthusiasts at the famous Cheltenham racecourse in the UK and took part in the world’s first Para-Canix event. A 3 km race round the course, using dogs to pull each Trike. What a fantastic weekend, such a friendly group of people. If anyone is a keen dog lover and would love to give this a try do please get in touch with us. Races take part most weekends through the winter months (as it would be too hot for the dogs in the summer) and we are very happy to lend out trikes if someone would like a go (and the CaniX people are happy to lend dogs as well).
Wheelchair Biathlon
A cross-country wheelchair race with target shooting
Much like the Winter Olympic sport involving a cross-country skiing race and shooting, we believe we can create a wheelchair equivalent as many of the Trike actions mirror those of the skiing event. We have been in touch with the UK Paralympic committee and the Army to try and arrange a demonstration event. We’ll let you know how things progress...

Disc Golf
A game of golf except with frisbees!
Disc golf has been going for many years and involves throwing frisbees round a course and into a basket at the end. Much like golf the courses are usually great to look at but can be very difficult to traverse in a wheelchair. So a good friend of ours is hoping to use the Mountain Trike to overcome this problem and get more wheelchair users into the sport.
Please show your support for any of these sports by getting in touch with us or posting on our facebook page.
